This new concept definitely beats that! Nike and Seattle-based design firm Teague have teamed up to create a plane specifically for athletes.In a proposal titled “Home Advantage at 40,000 Feet,” Nike and Teague unveiled plans for a high-tech plane specifically equipped to reduce the negative physical effects of flying for elite athletes. 

The plane includes: data centers that analyze each athlete’s physiological state; a snack bar; a massage area; individual chambers where athletes can undergo cold and compression treatments; and even lie-flat seats that can accommodate athletes up to 7 feet tall. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VEMOSARTE/226614980736691

Exposición “Dreams and Memories” del pintor Dominicano Juan Carlos Reyes

Biography

He was born on March 21 in the town of Santiago de los Caballeros , Dominican Republic . From an early age , showing great interest in the visual arts. As he was groing up he surprised his mentors for his dedication to drawing . At 20 Juan Carlos started classes with the famous proffesor Chiqui Mendoza. He held his first exhibition in “La Casa de la Cultura” in Santiago de los Caballeros a year later he  began studying architecture at the University of Santiago UTESA, but he interrupted his studies for the love of arts.
He was admited to the School of Design Altos de Chavon , which provides security and skill in the area of fine arts, transitioning from a a student to a professional with more disciple and confidence.During his studies he met the artist Magno Laracuente which he considered as his mentor and teacher and , opened his doors to Jaun Carlos and to his workshop. Laracuente is a recognized artist in the United States. After several years of intense dedication ,he moved to the city of Santo Domingo, where he set up his workshop for paintings and personal growth.He is involved, then, in group projects and participates in the preparation of various exhibitions, 2 auctions in group with the most prominent country artists such as Ivan Tovar , Elsa Núñez, Guillo Pérez , Ramón Oviedo , among others.

Nace el 21 de marzo en la localidad de Santiago de los Caballeros,
Rep. Dominicana. Desde muy temprana edad, muestra gran interés por las Artes Plásticas, sorprendiendo más tarde a sus mentores por su dedicación al Dibujo. A sus 20 años comienza a recibir tutorias de Dibujo y pintura el laureado profesor Chiqui Mendoza  realiza su primera exposición colectiva  en la Casa de la Cultura de Santiago de los Caballeros, años después  comienza a estudiar la carrera de Arquitectura en la  Universidad Utesa de Santiago teniendo que interrumpir sus estudios por el amor a las artes plásticas.Entra en el maravilloso mundo de la Escuela de Diseño Altos de Chavón, la que le proporciona seguridad y destreza en el área de las Artes Plásticas, transicionando  de discípulo más a un profesional confiado.En su paso por Chavón conoce al artista Magno Laracuente al cual considera como su mentor principal este maestro reconocido en Estados  Unidos, le abre las puertas en su taller de trabajo. Tras varios años de intensa dedicación se muda a la ciudad de Santo Domingo, cuna de América donde decide poner su propio lugar de encuentro personal y desarrollo.Se involucra, entonces, en proyectos colectivos y participa en la confección de diversas  exposiciones, 2 subastas del Caribe  en colectivas con los artistas más destacados del país tales como Iván Tovar, Elsa Núñez, Guillo Pérez, Ramón Oviedo, entre otros.Cargado un surrealismo mágico, inspirado en un mundo de hechos y realidades.Juan Carlos es ahora un artista independiente que a paso seguro se abre lentamente entre sus contemporáneos.

Inés Tolentino presents “Eyes Wide Open”

The exhibition consists of an interesting body of 16 pieces of unpublished works. These paintings and drawings showcase the delicacy and sophistication that characterizes her style. Sailing in her own universe she has continued to evolve to new conceptual levels, with the maturity and experience that dates far beyond her 30 year career.

As said by the artist in her own words: “This exhibition, represents the pleasure of the human representation. I say pleasure because there is a certain joy in reproducing, a face, a pose, a fold of a dress, a pair of hands. Eyes Wide Open displays the inhabitants of a same world. It is a collection of tender, burlesque and dramatic portraits, where the mask emphasizes a borderline between artifice and reality.”

Este show "Con los ojos abiertos" de la artista dominicana, radicada en París, Inés Tolentino, promete ser la réplica del tsumami estético, conceptual y único, que nos deja Milton Becerra con Haiku, pero con un medio, lenguaje y discurso diferentes, siendo el oficio y la originalidad, de ambos su punta de lanza.
